Adaptive Dwellers is an interactive Exhibit that explores the role of design in humanity’s adaptation to a world devastated by climate change. This speculative exhibition explores how a humanity would survive in the aftermath of environmental cataclysms caused by climate change. Unique survival tools, shelter, clothing, and survival strategies provoke conversation about deep adaptation in a catastrophically altered world. It was exhibited at Wanted Design Manhattan 2019, as part of the city-wide NYCxDesign celebration.

Earth, Vermicomposting for Fertile Soil

The exhibit contains tools and instructions for basic survival skills that re-harness the four elements: Air, Earth, Fire and Water. I worked with Stephanie Gamble to research and develop an interactive concept visualizing the concept of vermicomposting, Educating the public on the process of using worms to regenerate fertile soil.

Earth, Vermi-composting for Fertile Soil

Participants in this interaction were asked to grind their compostable leftovers to be fed to worms in the vermicompost display. These nutrient rich vermicasts are used to fortify soil for agricultural purposes, represented by the vertical farm wall at the booth.
